Vintage Wedding

Alvin and Joyce have the most well put-together wedding! Everything from the bride’s dress, the groom’s attire, venue, flowers down to the colours of the balloons all fit into the vintage theme of their wedding. Their wedding is what photographers dream about.

I also noted some little interesting things in their wedding. I have been to many weddings whereby the bride is the main person behind the planning. It’s uncommon to see the groom more involved than the bride. But with Alvin and Joyce, it seems that Alvin is the one running the show. He is the one who confirmed my services. On the morning of the wedding, he can be seen walking up and down the restaurant giving briefings to all involved and constantly dropping in to the makeup room to make sure that Joyce is doing fine. He truly made Joyce feel like a princess. All she has to worry about is her makeup. Joyce’s makeup artist agrees with me that Joyce is one lucky bride.

The other thing that struck me as interesting is how close the in-laws are. At most weddings, the two families usually stick to their own. But not this one. The mothers are like old friends. They even came dressed in the same colour! Joyce’s brother and sister arrived early to help Alvin with the setup of the place. During the signing ceremony, there was not groom-side and bride-side separation. The mothers sat side by side, occasionally exchanging commentaries.

To me, the wedding is beautiful not just because of the decorations but because of the people that make up the wedding - the beautiful bride, the caring groom and the supportive family.

The Wedding in the Garden

There are so many things that I like about Renga and Sophina's weddings. Costumes, traditions, food, location and most of all the nice people.

The wedding was 3 big celebrations within a day. It was a wonderful experience for me. Themed Indian, Malay and Contemporary, each party had a unique guest list. The guest came in their colourful traditional costumes. The food was different at each party. And being one of a handful who attended all the parties, it was a day of non-stop feasting for me.

I really enjoyed spending the entire day with Renga and Sophina because they are such nice people. They say you can tell a person's character by the friends they keep. Renga and Sophina's friends are super fun, friendly and genuine. Friends and family members worked together to ensure the smooth running of the 3 parties. Sisters, cousins, mothers, brothers-in-law, aunties all chipped in to help with makeup, event hosting, wedding flavours, logistics and coordination. The result was an unforgettable day for all of us who had the privilege of being a part of the celebration of love between this lovely couple . Read more... )

What a day we had!

Vik and Mythili's shoot has a nice story to tell. Our adventure started from a construction site, nearly got arrested by military police and finally a nice finale in the sunset. Had lots of giggles along the way. What a day we had!

Blast from the past

This picture brings back fond memories. It was the featured picture of the landing page of a very early version of my website. I was quite shocked to see the date on the picture - 14 October 2006. My, how time flies!

The couple was saying goodbye to their last guests after their lunch reception. Hands together, looking into the bright light, the picture is symbolic of their new journey together.

Chee Wee and Kathlyn

Looking at Chee Wee and Kathlyn's photos, I feel like I can feel their happiness. They are so in love and they are surrounded by so much love from their friends and relatives. It was wonderful for me to be immersed in that environment even if it was just for a day. Have a look and see if they have the same effect on you.

My Photo on Straits Times Cover

...well not a photo of me...

When I sat down for my morning fix of coffee and newspaper today, I got a pleasant surprise. There on the cover was the picture of a client-turned-dear friend - John Erdos. And it was a portrait I took of him! He was being featured on the Monday Interview. When I turned to the Life! section, there were more photos of him. Half page photos too, mind you. I was so happy for him! So I sent him a text "Good Morning, Mr Monday Interviewee!" He replied, "Good Morning! And wow, what a spread!"
